A fruit-led, honey-sweet Ugandan that works black, in milk, or filter.

Kwezi Natural from the Rwenzori region delivers layered fruit, honeyed sweetness, gentle nuttiness and chocolate. Grown by sisters Barbara Mugeni and Pamella Kampire — second-generation coffee professionals — this is a natural coffee with real character, but without pushing too far into wild or over-fermented territory. It's accessible and expressive at the same time.

Choose Your Roast

SL14 at high altitude in the Rwenzoris is naturally vibrant and fruit-forward. Pick the roast that matches how you want to experience it:

🔴 Ultra Light — Maximum Fruit Expression
For delicate, precise flavours and lively acidity. The fruit really sings. Best for: pour-over, Chemex, V60.

🟠 Light — Bright & Fruit-Led
More fruit brightness and a livelier cup. Good for discovery — you get the floral lift without loss of body. Best for: pour-over, filter, AeroPress.

🟤 Medium — The Recommended Sweet Spot
Fruit, honeyed sweetness, body and chocolate all come into perfect balance. This is where the SL14 really shines. Best for: espresso, milk-based drinks, AeroPress.

🔥 Dark — Richer & Rounded
Fuller, sweeter profile with chocolate and lower acidity. Honeyed sweetness really develops. Best for: espresso, lattes, French press, cold brew.

Not sure where to start? Go Medium. It's the best balance of everything this coffee has to offer.

The Story

Kwezi Coffee is led by sisters Barbara Mugeni and Pamella Kampire, second-generation coffee professionals rooted in family experience and a long connection to coffee production. The story begins on their father's farm, where the sisters learned the balance of farm management, coffee sales, and environmental care — shaped by their father's belief in women as equal decision-makers and their mother's skill in running the farm from planting through to post-harvest care.

After pursuing studies in Business Management and IT and gaining experience across the coffee sector, they launched Kwezi Coffee in 2021 to carry that vision forward. Today they lead as second-generation women in coffee, creating space for others to rise — connecting the dedication of women in Uganda's coffee fields with roasters and drinkers worldwide, ensuring their effort and expertise are recognised and rewarded.

Grown in the Rwenzori region at high altitude (1900–2200 masl), this coffee benefits from the vibrant, fruit-forward character the area is known for — while still offering reassuring sweetness and weight that make it highly versatile. The SL14 varietal is prized for combining cup quality with disease resistance. In this lot, you get crisp acidity, clean fruit and structure — a coffee that works beautifully across brewing methods, whether you want to highlight the fruit or lean into the sweetness.

Milk-Based Drinks: Medium roast — excellent body and sweetness without harshness
